Rural Broadband Internet Access
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has a program called the Connect America Fund (CAF) aimed at expanding access to voice and broadband services to under-served areas, especially rural communities. They are currently in their second phase and local service providers are eligible for funding. You can read more about this program at the following sites: Connect America Fund homepage and Connect America Fund Phase II FAQs. If you live in an area of the township where it is difficult to get high-speed internet access, call your telephone company and ask about their involvement with the program. The map below shows areas where service providers have accepted CAF Phase II funding and will offer expanded services in the future.
